Saturday morning was the M2s latest home match. The day was sunny but chilly.

The match started brightly with both teams moving the ball well and putting pressure on each other’s goal. Unfortunately Maidenhead couldn’t find an opening, but Yateley did! A frustrating goal that was against the run of play. Our heads seem to drop allowing Yateley to capitalise, which followed by them winning a penalty corner and converting it. Maidenhead pushed again for a goal, but a long through ball from Yateley found their lone sticker on the back post, who lifted the ball into the top corner. 3:0! However Maidenhead didn’t give up and a nice through ball from Monty down the right wing found Jamie who played the ball into the circle where Chris O, fired in a goal.

The second half was Maidenhead’s best spell. Lots of ball movement from the midfield, where Seth and Yuvraj enjoyed plenty of possession. This finally led to a penalty corner that Alfie converted with a fine drag flick. Maidenhead kept pushing for an equaliser but unfortunately time was against us and the game finished 2:3.

A really positive team performance which we will take into our next match Man of the match went to Yuvraj.
