Our U12 Girls played in the High Wycombe League Tournament at Wycombe Girls School this morning and despite the weather we had a great turnout of parent support also.
Well done to everyone that played today - you all played great hockey and the comments from the parents were that they were all playing as a TEAM! - excellent work girls that's Coach Ian and I's job done!
So the scores on the doors -
We had a brilliant start against our hosts High Wycombe with a 2-1 win which gave the girls a huge bounce. Our second game was then against Marlow who held us to a 0-0 draw. Next up was the 2nd Marlow team where the girls definitely got into their stride, and we found ourselves 4-0 up so we decided to take 1 player off the pitch to ensure the game was played in the right spirit. After that the girls had their rest game which maybe meant the girls were a little cold or full or hot chocolate!, but we then faced Slough who played very well upfront and unfortunately beat us 3-0.
Takeaways from today - Great team play, the girls are getting used to playing in their set positions and making this their own, spreading the ball out wide from the 16, good teamwork in the oppositions D and getting more used to taking defensive and attacking short corners.
Super proud of the fun you had on the pitch today and the friendships you have. Huge welcome to Georgia who played her first game with us today and I hope felt welcomed by the squad.
Team - Lauren J (GK), Vidhi, Jess, Lauren D, Isla, Anna, Darcy, Vibha, Ishanvi and Georgia.
