West Hampstead 3 – 1 Monarchs
West Hampstead started strongly and soon opened up the Maidenhead defence and by half time were two goals up both scored from open play.
It was obvious from the side lines that the Maidenhead players were not working hard enough to create pass options and the player with the ball was being mobbed by two or three opposition players with the usual consequence of losing possession.
It was 3 – 0 Midway through the second half before the Monarchs started to play better hockey at least for the last 15 minutes of the game. In this period they created a couple of penalty corners the second of which one was dispatched by Tim Brennan with a strong shot into the bottom left hand corner of the goal.
A further two PCs were won but the team was unable to convert either and with those chances gone defeat was inevitable.
